"Corrupted Minds" (1x26) is the 26th session of the first campaign of Itora.

The party regroup after half a year apart, resume their lack of restraint when it comes to the cookie tin, and set course toward Versa's old crewmate Warble.

Synopsis

Gang's Back Together

After half a year apart, the party find themselves together again, through infront of the Ockburn property they were granted and summarily neglected until this point.

The structure seems sound but quite abandoned. The group move inside to inspect the dusty interior to find it devoid of furnishings and comforts. Pine offers fresh baked goods to the group, attracting the attention of a squirrel who quickly snatches it and escapes through a hole in the ceiling.

The group discuss their downtime activities, noting the absence of Lurtak and the addition of Ricoril.

Gael requests the Boulangerie de Beaucoup, pulling The Star.

XVII - The Star - A meteor crashes before you, containing a golden lamp with two charges. You may expend one charge to cast the Wish spell in a way that does not benefit you personally, or two charges to cast the Wish spell to benefit yourself.

Versa takes the tin immediately back. Gael notices a high pitched whine that seems to be rapidly approaching, only for it to abruptly end as an object impacts through the roof, the floor, and lands in the cellar. Hopping down through the hole, they inspect the object, which appears to be a meteorite. After gathering a bucket of water, they cool it down enough to touch. Ricoril uses both of his morning stars to break it open, revealing a golden lamp inside.

Gael immediately snatches the lamp, causing Versa to, in turn, take it from them. Versa then appears outwardly to be deep in thought as a voice speaks into her brain, telling her to return them to their master. After a short conversation, she obliges.

A city guard knocks on the door with questions for party about the disturbance, as reported by a concerned neighbor. Their explanation leaves him puzzled, though satisfied.

Versa takes her opportunity to run away from the group. Unfortunately for her, Ricoril's uncanny ability to track her down finds her after several hours, setting up camp on the side of the road.

Blisridge

The group travel to Turtlemouth Station and board the Maglev headed to Blisridge. After about a day of travel, they arrive at their destination. Wasting no time, Ricoril invokes the power of the cookie tin and pulls The Tower:

XVI - The Tower - This card spells disaster.

The remainder of the effect is unknown to Ricoril, but he knows deep down that it must affect someone close to him, and he assumes a member of his family back home at Cleiben may be the victim.

Versa leads the party to House Kardin. She asks Reginald to pay for repairs to the house in Ockburn, to which he refuses, noting that it was a gift received as payment as is summarily solely owned by the party. Pine, attempting to break the tension towards a more productive line of conversation, asks if he has any open jobs. At present, he says, he does not, but he may have more in the future. Thoroughly unsatisfied, the group head south out of the city.

Bird Visitation

Pine casts two Sendings to The Lark.

Pine: (via Sending) Hi! Versa wanted to know if the Lark has any of the promised info. Let me know if you figured out anything about whether I'm still committed to my old deal. Any updates are appreciated.
The Lark: Hello, my young ward. Things here have progressed greatly since we last met. The arrival of your companion Gael was a pleasant surprise and sped up my work greatly. Next you visit, I suspect I’ll have something to show. As far as I’m aware, you are free from that bargain.

Continuing down the highway, the party make good progress toward Warble's location.
