"Furry Explosion" (1x43) is the 43rd session of the first campaign of Itora.

Synopsis

Early the next morning, Ricoril finds Versa's letter to Yllzenya Yeltsa. Ricoril goes to contact Versa, who is outside the city, but does so through a one-way telepathic link instead of the Ring of Masks, leaving Versa perplexed. Gael picks up the figurine of Versa she wanted. Pine casts Sending to his father, asking whether or not he wants his help; he replies dismissively.

The rest of the party discuss their next destination, deciding to meet up with Versa first before finalizing their decision. Ricoril says goodbye to his family, and his mother surprises him with a hand-made "Furry Explosion" scarf, which he instantly dons. Ricoril expertly tracks down Versa, who they find camped off the beaten path just as she her brewed poison backfires and fails.

Setting course to Ockburn to confront Afiqa, the party travel for over a week through the desert. Just after midnight on January 23rd, Kismet gives Versa a call after on the Ring of Masks to loudly celebrate Versa's birthday - an exclamation loud enough to wake Gael, who smugly smiles and keeps the information to himself until the others wake. As a present to herself, Versa decides to partake in a cupcake from the Boulangerie de Beaucoup, manifesting The Fool:

0 - The Fool - Your comprehension of any language other than common is reduced to zero, and speaking any other language results in inane babble. However, your grasp of Common refines, and you gain the ability to perfectly read lips from any visible distance. These effects last until healed by Greater Restoration or Wish.

The effects of the treat are not immediately apparent to Versa, so the group continues on towards Ockburn.
